Callum Watson Piano School teaches music lessons to students of all ages and all levels in Geelong, Torquay and on the Surf Coast – including piano, drums, bass guitar, guitar and voice in all genres.

Recognised as one of the regions finest classical and jazz musicians, Callum can teach beginner to advanced repertoire and technique. His desire is to follow the aims and goals of the student giving them the tools and knowledge to reach their full musical potential.

Callum Watson Piano School students also have regular opportunities to perform in the community allowing talented students to hone their live performance craft.

Students can either come to Callum’s studio or Callum can travel to your home in Torquay or Geelong (travel fees apply).

Callum Watson

Callum Watson (Bmus) is an ambassador for young Australian jazz and classical talent, a respected instrumentalist and composer, and a prolific producer spanning across jazz, classical and theatre.

In addition to winning the Margaret Schofield Scholarship for composition, Watson has won a variety of awards and grants including from Melbourne Fringe Festival (2018), state (Creative Victoria, 2019) and local governments (City of Greater Geelong and City of Melbourne, 2019) and internationally from orkest de ereprijs in the Netherlands (2019).

As a teacher, Watson has held music teaching and direction positions with primary and secondary schools across Victoria including Fairhills High School (Knoxfield), Brunswick East Primary School and Tate Street Primary School (Geelong). He has also worked on teaching projects with Independent Schools Victoria and Geelong Youth Choir.

As a composer, Watson has written original scores for nine theatre productions including one musical having a close ongoing relationship with theatre director Dr David Kelmam (University of Melbourne). Productions have included the critically acclaimed Caliban (2016) premiered at the Malthouse Theatre, and Sheherazade (2014) a major interactive theatre experience staged at Footscray Community Arts Centre.
