Callum is delighted to win the Geelong Youth Award for Arts & Music presented by the City of Greater Geelong.
The awards recognise the positive impacts young people aged between 12 and 25 years have made in Greater Geelong across areas such as social justice, care, sport and the arts.
The City of Greater Geelong Youth Council helped shortlist nominees and select the seven award winners, who were awarded a trophy and $500 to further their interests, education or community work.
The Arts & Music award recognises Callum’s impact on both international and local audiences. In recent months Callum has had two international premieres and has founded Geelong Jazz Soirées. In March 2019, Callum represented Australia at the 25th International Young Composers Meeting in the Netherlands. In May, Callum’s work Timely Disarray for flute, french horn and pipe organ was premiered in Berlin by leading German musicians.
